The series kicked off with a dialogue about the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadacouncil.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Canada Council for the Arts<\/a>\u2018 recent publication <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/FinalversionofENGLISHPublicEngagementpapertoeprintit.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Public Engagement in the Arts<\/a><\/strong>, between Sankaset creator Kristina Lemieux and two arts leaders:<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/kristina-142-Edit-lr.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin: 8px;\" title=\"Kristina Lemieux\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/kristina-142-Edit-lr-199x300.jpg\" width=\"124\" height=\"187\" \/><\/a>Kristina Lemieux is an arts administrator and contemporary dancer. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Alberta with a major in Sociology and minor in Drama. Since moving to Vancouver six years ago she has worked with many of the City\u2019s art organizations: Arts Umbrella, New Works, Out On Screen and Vancouver Art Gallery. Currently, she is the Program Coordinator of the <a href=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/about\/www.cadabc.org\" target=\"_blank\">Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists \/ BC Chapter<\/a> (CADA\/BC) and the Artistic Producer for <a href=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/about\/www.tomorrowcollective.com\" target=\"_blank\">The Tomorrow Collective<\/a>. She is also working on many projects this year such as teaching Careers in Dance at VCC, production managing a project <a title=\"Stanley Park Polar Bear Pits\" href=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/?p=30\" target=\"_blank\">activating the polar bear den in Stanley Park<\/a>, a research project with <a href=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/about\/www.newworks.ca\" target=\"_blank\">New Works<\/a>, dancing with <a href=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/about\/polymerdance.tumblr.com\" target=\"_blank\">Polymer Dance<\/a> and getting a Certificate in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfu.ca\/content\/sfu\/continuing-studies\/programs\/dialogue-and-civic-engagement-certificate\/overview.html\">Dialogue and Civic Engagement<\/a> at SFU. Kristina has nearly 15 years experience as an arts administrator and a deep passion for dance. Hailing from Edmonton, Kristina was an active member of Edmonton\u2019s dance community and was a dancer with Orchesis Dance Group, KO Dance Project and Mile Zero Dance. She currently the President for both the Board of Directors for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.taracheyenne.com\" target=\"_blank\">Tara Cheyenne Performance<\/a> and Board of Directors for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatrereplacement.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Theatre Replacement<\/a>. Kristina sees a lot of performing art.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/TaraCF.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-170 alignright\" style=\"margin: 8px;\" title=\"TaraCF\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/TaraCF-150x150.png\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.taracheyenne.com\/\"><strong>Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg <\/strong><\/a>&#8211; Creator\/Performer<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Tara is a Vancouver based performer, creator, dance-theatre educator, choreographer, and the Artistic Director of Tara Cheyenne Performance.  Tara has been nominated for several Jessie Richardson Awards and an Ovation Award for her choreography in theatre. Her latest creation, Highgate (a piece for 5 Victorian characters) will premiere at The Cultch, Vancouver in April 2013.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/FlickH1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin: 8px;\" title=\"FlickH\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/kristinalemieux.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/FlickH1-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickharrison.com\/\"><strong>Flick Harrison<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 All Round Media Artist<\/p>\n<p>Flick Harrison is a self-made nobody, a renegade artist, an underpreneur, a premiere Vancouver poorfessional, and now a member of the Sunset Community artists-in-residence \u201cSomething Collective.\u201d His film, theatre, video, acting, writing and camera work has been seen by millions, been nominated and won awards internationally, and slipped into, under and through almost every Canadian funding niche.
